New York Military Ministry & Fellowship Group (NYMMFG) Since its inception in June of 2000, the NYMMFG, a non-profit subsidiary, has been involved with co-sponsoring events and activities for Military Personnel and their families. We also have done volunteer work in the Veteran and Cadet communities. After 9/11 the Ministry became involved with assisting various National Guard Family Readiness Groups, and has sent many care packages and Bibles to units overseas. We have assisted also in family day activities for our FRGs, as well as the Military Family Night done annually at Fort Hamilton Military Base, through the Army Community Service. Along with one of our supporters who is an NYPD Community Chaplain, we have provided volunteers for family activities, and morale outreach events for members of the New York City Police and Fire departments. Our organization is fully dedicated to support of the Military and Para-Military Communities here in New York City and their families and loved ones serving bravely overseas. As a member of the New York Guard, Armed Forces of the State of New York, I know and understand the needs of today's soldier, and especially those who are Single, serving here in New York far away from their families. We make it a point to reach out to our Single and Separated Soldiers, to help familiarize them with the City, and we coordinate outings to help them become more comfortable with their temporary home. WHO WE ARE We are Christian Singles who serve in the Military. We are from all branches, cultures and denominations. We are a Singles group, (never-married, divorced, widowed, and Single Parents), dedicated to meeting the social and spiritual needs of today's Singles in the Military. We are SSAMCG4C: soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast-guardsmen, for Christ! Our group does bus trips, bible-based discussions, seminars on spiritual growth, coffeehouses, dances and outings! We are also very much involved veteran and cadet organiations,Chaplains and Military Family Service organizations, where we do volunteer work, and assist in organizing events and activities, for Military personnel and their families. We are open-minded, down to earth, full of faith and full of love for God's earthly armed forces! We believe God has ordained the legitimacy of the need for our Armed Forces, and has established a place for our service in the Great Commission. There are many Singles far away from family and home. Our military Singles have special needs and we are here for them. We appreciate and celebrate their sacrifice and service, placing their lives on the line while standing guard over us all. We are proud to be called, anointed, chosen and appointed to serve God and our Country! Keeping at the heart of our organization the Scripture in 2timothy2:4.."no one called to be a warrior, worries about the lusts of life, so that he may please God who has called him to be a soldier.." |

MyComrade Fund for Injured Service Members The Military Ministry, as with many non-profit military support organizations, has responded to the need for assistance for our wounded service members. It is our desire to help the injured service member, who has sacrificed much, and still press forward, lead as healthy, wholesome and productive a life as possible. My name is Miss Mary, and I and my associate Mr. Wendell Sawyer of the legendary group ‘Blue Magic’, are hosts of a weekly Classic Soul Production featured at Studio 8, called: “Classic Soul Fridays” at one of the première night spots in New York City; The Manhattan Center. Studio 8 is fitted with state-of-the-art sound and lights, and we showcase the best of up-in-coming, and sometime, well-known music industry performers. In 2004 in both the Hammerstsein Ballroom and the Grand Ballroom, we teamed up with the popular radio station 98.7KissFM, to hosts various successful and well-attended Classic Soul Concert Series. It is because of the success of our weekly Classic Soul productions and our concert series, that we wish to plan a Concert/ dance affair fundraiser during Fleet Week, scheduled for Friday, May 27th, 2005. We are proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds from this affair will go to a local fund for injured Service Members from the New York State/ Tri-State region. The My Comrade Fund for Injured Service Members. The New York Military Ministry and Fellowship Group, a non-profit military support organization that since 2000 has done volunteer work with various Military Chaplains and Military Family Readiness Groups, administers the My Comrade Fund. They have sent care packages overseas and have assisted in various morale/ welfare/ and recreation activities for military personnel and their families. We have identified over 150 injured service members from the New York Sate/ Tri-State region alone and while working with Chaplains and military officers; the fund is designed to assist service members in need, with financial assistance. The New York Military Ministry and Fellowship Group was started by members of the reserves both enlisted and officers, and is totally self-supported. It receives no benefits from the military for it is a private non-profit outreach of WE Luv the Lord Unlimited, Inc., a 501c3 ministry here in New York State. In celebration of Fleet week and the dedication of our service members, and in our desire to assist our young men and women from our hometown recovering in various military hospitals, we are asking you to join in with us in this exciting venture! OUR PASSIONS We attend many Christian and Military events and activities and we are often asked to assist at many veteran and cadet events. We heavily support the elders of our time and the young warriors who are coming up. We also do fundrasing to co-sponsor events and activities for family support groups of activated units. We also attend military conventions and information seminars on military health and family support. We enjoy Bible reading and books on spiritual growth, and how to balance our faith with our profession of arms. OUR SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK JESUS said "if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me"...(John 12:32) If our lifestyles, manner of speech, and the way we walk according to our faith, are in line with the teachings of the Gospel, this witness shall be seen by all those around us, testifying of the reality of Christ, and the power of His love for us. Others will see your love, compassion and care, and the freedom from fear and worry that you exhibit because of your confidence in God's promises in your life, and this will inspire others to want the same, or to at least wish to know more about our Faith and Jesus. This draws people to the Gospel and to Jesus and they see the truth and not assumptions and misconceptions about the Man and His Ministry. We cannot be perfect, but we can diligently try to walk in a way pleasing to the master. We know if we handle ourselves correctly while in uniform, this draws people to the military. Likewise, if we walk upright as a Christian then people will see Jesus and be drawn to Him. I pray the Lord strengthens you to walk upright always and do what is that good and pleasing thing in His eyes, and may others be drawn closer to God by the word of your testimony, and the integrity of your manner....
